Understanding the terminology in the BTA Sports app helps you get the most out of every feature. Below is a glossary of key terms, metrics, and quick tips to guide you as you analyze games, props, and probabilities.
Core Terms
BTA Line: BTA’s projected point spread or total for a matchup, generated by our internal AI models. It reflects what our data says the line
Confidence (%) / Risk %
BTA’s model-calculated probability that a specific outcome will occur. For example, a 68% Risk % means BTA’s models predict that outcome would hit 68 times out of 100.
Estimated Odds
The combined odds of the bets you selected, based on the sportsbook you chose (FanDuel or DraftKings) with more Books on the way, but allows you to have an idea of what the odds would be in your selected Sportsbook of preference.
These odds:

Come directly from the sportsbook odds of your picks

Help you understand what your potential payout might look like

Are shown for reference and may differ slightly from final sportsbook odds due to vig, boosts, or market shifts
Estimated Win Probability
The overall likelihood of your single bet or parlay hitting. Calculated using BTA’s AI models based on all selected legs in your Risk Slip.
AI Risk Analyzer
A tool that combines all your selections into a single slip and displays:

It helps you understand both risk and potential payout before placing a bet, based on BTA's AI Risk Probability.
Game View
The interactive game matchup screen showing:

BTA’s predicted lines, scores, and totals

Risk Confidence % percentages

Sliders to test alternate spreads and totals allowing you to fully interact with the data. Optimize and build your strategy.
Player Screen (Prop Analyzer)
Where you view player-specific props and model probabilities. Sliders allow you to adjust stat lines (e.g., receptions, yards) and instantly see how risk changes.
Fantasy IQ
BTA’s daily fantasy optimization tool. It provides AI-driven projections, lineup optimization, and player comparisons to help you build smarter DFS lineups.
Alternate Lines / Totals
Versions of spreads or totals that differ from the standard line.
Changing to an alternate line (like from -3.5 to +2.5) affects both probability and payout.
Leg
A single selection or outcome within a parlay or multi-pick slip.
Parlay
A multi-leg bet combining two or more selections.
All legs must hit to win.
